I know that blind people do use them but as far as where they are sold have no clue. You might want to try maxiaids or living independant aids because they are sure to have them.

I happen to know somebody in this situation, and this is what was done. Get an ordinary peak flow meter, it has numbers on it. Get every fiftieth number marked. So you should have 50, 100, 150 etc marked. You'll obviously need a sighted person to do this with that marking stuff that can also go on overns and things like that. Anyway when that's done, and you blow, you should have a good idea of your peak flow, obviously you'll only know to the nearest 50, but that should be sufficient. If you're maths isn't good enough to count in fifties, then write down what each mark equals. For example, 6=300, 5=250, etc.

what is a peakflow meeter and how does that work? What are the symptoms of asthma?

A peak flow meeter is a device that measures your breathing. I don't know a lot about them but they also use them in hospitals to keep your lungs clear while in the hospital. Some symptems of asthma could be shortness of breath. Tightness in chest area. Coughing. And stuff like that.

yes well the problem with marking the thing is the neetle is inside the tubing so that wouldnt work that is what most places here in missouri give out for peakflow meters.

Try going to a counsilor at an independent living center. My mother used to work at one and they're all over the country. There is probably one near you. Show them your device and perhaps they can help you brainstorm a solution.
